Kidfon
Kidfon wasn’t built to impress with flash. It was built to work—simply, reliably, and affordably. Whether you're a parent looking for peace of mind, a caregiver supporting an aging loved one, or someone who just wants the phone to do what matters, Kidfon was designed with one goal: keeping people connected and safe.
In 2018, I became the Content Advisor and Editor for a digital safety campaign supporting the launch of KidFon, a mobile app that helps families protect young children online. This multi-platform rollout focused on simplifying complex tech features into clear, engaging messaging for diverse audiences. I led the content strategy and I assisted in writing SEO-driven copy for the landing page and launch assets—resulting in over 12,000 visits on launch day. I also collaborated closely with developers to align messaging with product milestones and user needs.
With a clean, intuitive interface and features you can actually use, Kidfon got rid of the clutter of modern smartphones to allow parents to manage their child (or loved one) and what they can access. It was tech that put safety first—without the subscription fees, bulky gear, or gimmicks.
This wasn’t about bells and whistles. It was about trust. It was about knowing where your child is and that they can reach you. It was about creating tools that empower—not overwhelm.
The Landing Page
Proofreading & Optimization
I refined all microcopy for clarity, engagement, and age-appropriate language while maintaining brand voice.
Tone & Accessibility
I provided strategic advice on language simplification and accessibility features, ensuring content resonated with young users.
Content Development
I created engaging home screen taglines and copy specifically for parent audiences.
Kidfon’s Flyer Design Spotlight
I strategically recommended distributing Kidfon's promotional materials through PeachJar, a specialized platform where parents discover educational resources for children.
Beyond Social Media
While Facebook and Twitter were the initial focus, PeachJar provided direct access to our exact target audience: engaged parents seeking quality children's resources.
Strategic Advantage
PeachJar's mission of helping children thrive beyond the classroom aligned perfectly with Kidfon's educational values.
Outside-the-Box Thinking
This approach bypassed traditional digital advertising noise, placing Kidfon directly in an ecosystem of trusted educational resources.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Although Kidfon had a brief launch period, one particularly interesting insight emerged while the app was live: not only were parents downloading the app for their children, but members of the aging population were also downloading it for their own use. This unexpected user behavior revealed a broader need for simple, intuitive communication tools—particularly among older adults seeking user-friendly ways to stay connected.
This insight, drawn from user analytics, led the app’s creator to consider developing a separate product specifically tailored to the needs of the aging population. It demonstrated the value of early-stage data in shaping product direction and highlighted how inclusive design can reveal untapped audiences.
